On 2 November 2007, at the Expocentre in Krasnaya Presnya held VI International Conference «RUSSIAN FINANCIAL MARKET 2007».
The organizers of the project were International Exhibition Agency IFA and the Association of Regional Banks of Russia.Conference prepared with the support of the State Duma, the Russian Federation Ministry of Economic Development, Department for support and development of small business in Moscow, Russian Agency for Small and Medium Business, MAP and MIBA, the Moscow Association of Entrepreneurs and MIBA.
Main objective of the conference was to discuss the current state of the public and banking policy in relation to the Russian businessman at the present stage, the effectiveness of existing federal and regional level, mechanisms and instruments to support the sector, the prospects for its development and potential problems, the development of new financial support mechanisms Small and medium-sized businesses.
The plenary of the Conference «PLACE AND THE ROLE OF SMALL BUSINESS IN THE ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL PROBLEMS OF MODERN SOCIETY» discussed the most topical issues of public policy to ensure access of small businesses to financial resources, improve the efficiency of their financing and guarantees for banks.
A presentation was made by Anatoly Aksakov - Vice Chairman of the State Duma on Credit Organizations and Financial Markets, President of the Association «Russia». In his speech, he gave an analysis of the current status of small and medium business in Russia, problems of development, prospects of development in the area of small business lending. In particular, Anatoly Aksakov analyzed the effects of international debt crisis in the Russian debt market and the decline in the availability of credit to SMEs.
First Deputy Head of Department for Support and Development of Small Entrepreneurship in Moscow, Alexander Karpov, speaking at the conference, said that the number of small businesses in Moscow, to date more than 200 thousand. Total gross revenues of these enterprises in 2006 amounted to 4.5 trillion rubles. This amounts to 20-22 percent. total gross proceeds of Moscow. 55% of the base of small businesses related to retail businesses, said Alexander Karpov.
